Chef Ak has been fascinated with culinary since the maturing age of 15 when he rolled his first dough and baked his first tray of glazed donuts. From there, Ak decided that culinary would be his outlet. Dodging the negative influences of the streets of Baltimore to The Bronx, Ak new that with perserverance he could continue his love of culinary by enrolling in Job Corp. There he established himself. Chef Ak was so enthused with Job Corp, that once he graduated with his Culinary Arts certificate the first time through Delaware Valley Job Corp, he re enrolled into Woodstock Job Corp in Maryland to recieve a Culinary Arts II certificate. There, Chef Ak was able to bring forth a new talent of innovation and flare. By coupling his love for rap music and food , Ak started creating different culinary dishes with "Hip Hop" as his inspirational forcast. As a Chef at one of Baltimore's premiere hotels, The Tremont, Ak was able to shine and direct his creative culinary dishes (hip hop inspired) onto tasteful plates that caught the attention of Vivica Fox, Tarel Hicks,Team Roc, Billy Dee Williams, as well as the Ravens NFL team.
While continuing to dedicate his 15 years of culinary expertise,his passion for cooking and satisfying the hunger of many people, Chef Ak decided to start his catering business, Platnium Catering (launching June 2010). Ak "The Hip Hop Chef", as he has been called for some years now, will keep his patrons wanting, needing and yearning for his creative dishes like, "4-5-6 Lasagna Rolls" or "BALLERS! Seafood Platter"
