Memberships and Social Network Connections
You may wonder when you sign up to 66Raw.com and you utilize some of our applications why it asks to connect to Facebook or Twitter, etc. after you already signed up and are logged in.
The 66Raw.com membership is an exclusive membership only to 66Raw, we have our own applications and administer access on the site based on your 66Raw.com membership. The Facebook and Twitter, etc. connection are in place to simplify your registration and to allow you to integrate your other social media connection with 66Raw.com
Any social media network site that you have a membership too and want to connect to 66Raw.com, we have to ask for permission to access your info such as your status updates and display them our our website. All that information is control by these social network websites and we can only access the information that you have deemed "shareable" in your privacy settings. So everytime you log into your 66Raw.com account with your Facebook login, we have to send a request to Facebook stating that you are requesting the connection by entering your username and password, otherwise we are unable to connect.
So anytime that we are sending a request to these sites an authentication has to take place and that is the reason why you may have to connect a few times for using the Chat Room on our toolbar or any other application that we may utilize.
All in all it is for your own protection and security, that way you always know that nothing will be accessed or shared unless you give permission to do so.
The applications on 66Raw.com
We feature a wide variety of applications and programs on 66Raw.com for you to use such as a Message Board, Shoutbox, Member Community, Twitter, etc. Majority of applications are 66Raw.com application which are maintained and powered by the 66 RAW team, however some applications are provided by 3rd Parties which means that we basically utilize another companies services to use on our website and we are paying them to maintain these applications.
One of the reasons is resources and time. Maintaining a website as large as 66Raw.com with all of our feature is very resource extensive from ensuring the radio stream is up 24/7 and it is working properly, that everything on the website works, and so on. You can imagine that anytime we introduce a new technology or feature it will require some more house keeping and sometimes we decide that it is a better idea to just pay someone else to do the work, so that we can focus on ours.
Something does not work on the site
The website is rather large and in a lot of section members contribute items. It is hard for us to keep track of every single item and ensure it works (we don't have the work force). Our main way to get things resolved is for our members to let us know when they run into problems. Sometimes it could just be a glitch and resolves itself. You have to understand that we get a lot of traffic everyday, members use different sections of the websites so there is a lot of back and forth transfers between data. Sometimes, if a connection times out or the connection speed is slowed, it can cause an error, but sometimes these error could lead to corrupt some items on the server and they will have to be fixed by our team. So when you see something not working it is very helpful to post it in the Forum under "Technical Difficulties" because that way other members can see if someone else encounters the same problem and when we respond they either know what to do or at least they know that we are working on it.
Who owns the website
The website is currently solely funded by the 66 Raw team which is The General Leo G. and Danny Blaq. There are no corporate entities or investors, it is solely done through our personal finances and resources. We are working on monetizing some portions of the website but we are exploring ways of making it make sense. Our members always have been the core foundation of 66 RAW and we are trying to keep it that way. So when things may not work properly keep in mind that we are NOT Google with hundreds of people working on it 24/7 and when things happen we are usually the first to want it fixed.
